I feel like I have walked in fresh wooded air with you and your animals.

I can even smell it. It’s raining and the trees are overhead while the dog is running and barking at the raindrops. I love the smell of fresh rain rising up from moist ground. It’s peaceful and invigorating at the same time.

Awareness is something that is becoming more and more important to me as I stay in recovery. It’s important to take note of the present, because the present is applicable to the tomorrow in many ways. A learning experience. Analytics of sorts.

It’s also a grounding measure in time of need. I am reflecting more than I used to, as opposed to reacting. Feeling not so driven to act as things pass. Just observing and letting things go. Storing what I need, discarding the unnecessary.

I wish my surrounding s were more friendly for walking and observing. I’m not in the most favorable territory for that I’m afraid. I have a distaste for buildings, and commercial terrain. But for now, that’s what I’m stuck with. Although, as the weather is becoming more yummy, I hope to venture to the beach, a few nature walks in the state park, some fishing, maybe some camping..and just enjoying the earthly view. Just soaking it in will be welcomed. I spent 20 years letting it fly by me, with few sober memories of where I have been, what I have seen or the wind in my hair.

It’s a new day.

Thanks for taking me for a walk with you and your pets. I enjoyed it even though I never left my computer.
